Harbor Point is LEED-ND Gold Certified

LEED-ND stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Developments and Harbor Point is one of just forty-eight in the world to get their Gold certification. This special recognition was awarded because of the 80-acre project's environmentally sound design, planning and construction.

Each neighborhood is created with an open-framework design, centered on a prominent park. The neighborhoods are intended to foster a strong sense of community and inter-connectivity. All of the streets are designed to be pedestrian-friendly with wide sidewalks, calmed traffic, tree-lined streets, ground-floor retail, accessible building entrances and bike lanes. The buildings are designed to reduce water use, save energy, incorporate structured parking, reduce their heat island, and employ green construction practices. Harbor Point's diversity of uses, active Jitney service and easy access to the Stamford train station, make for a healthier, more livable and more environmentally friendly city.
