Boothbay Lobster Company Coming To Stamford

July 1, 2016

Harbor Point is set to finally serve up a long-awaited addition from the Maine coast to its menu of dining destinations.

Boothbay Lobster Company plans to open its restaurant at 14 Harbor Point Rd. in the first half of July, according to its founders. The establishment was originally scheduled to open in early 2016, but construction delays pushed back the debut. Now, Boothbay’s management say the building work on the approximately 2,700-square-foot space has entered its final stages.

“We think the people here are really going to appreciate the hyper-local focus, of only using Gulf of Maine seafood,” said Boothbay Co-Founder and President David Galin.

The restaurant is Boothbay’s first brick-and-mortar venture and will accompany a food-truck service that the company launched last fall in Fairfield County that has already served some 2,000 customers. Many of those regulars live in Harbor Point.

“There’s something about those seaside Maine lobster shacks where the boats are pulling in and offloading the food directly into the kitchen and right to consumers’ plates,” said Willie Craig, a partner in Boothbay and the son of co-founder George Craig. “We felt like that was really missing from this area.”

Boothbay serves only Maine seafood. Steamed lobster, lobster rolls and bacon lobster cheese will feature prominently on the menu. Other offerings will include fried clam rolls, clam chowder, mussels and fried fish. A raw bar will also serve up lobster, oysters and clams. To complement the fare, Boothbay will keep a number of Maine beers on tap and also offer wine. It will make its sodas with homemade syrup.
